SHIFT Gravity Pedal

Wolf Tooth SHIFT Gravity Clipless Pedals are designed for maximum support and unparalleled confidence for downhill, enduro, and aggressive trail riding with flawless clip-in/out performance. The low stack height gives you a lower center of gravity, and the open center between the cages means increased mud shedding. No other SPD-compatible gravity pedal has a platform this large, giving you a more direct connection to the bike when things get spicy.

Maximum Contact

SHIFT features a huge 1,201 mm² platform that creates maximum contact with your shoe for a rooted connection. Eight grip pins on the front and rear provide additional grip, while allowing you to find and lock down the pedal in the event of an unclip. This gravity-specific design gives you more confidence in extreme terrain at high speed than any other SPD-compatible clipless pedal.

Best In Class

SHIFT Gravity Pedals give you the best of everything: exceptionally large platform size; eight stainless steel traction pins; light weight; and low stack for maximum control, a lower center of gravity, great power transfer, and ground clearance.

Stainless Durability

Stronger and corrosion-resistant. SHIFT Gravity Pedals feature stainless steel SPD-compatible binding assemblies and axles. Engineered for gravity riding, they're built to take whatever punishment you can dish out. Ready and waiting for the worst conditions.

Crisp, Consistent, Refined

Clipping in and out needs to be simple, quick, and reliable. SHIFT Gravity Pedals feature an SPD-compatible cage that will work with your existing SPD cleats. Wolf Tooth cleats are included in the box for optimized performance.

Adjustable Q Factor

Adjusting the Q factor (pedal stance width) moves the pedal toward or away from the center of the bike. SHIFT Gravity Pedals feature patent-pending Q factor adjustment options of 51, 55, and 59mm to fine-tune your fit, and ship set at 55mm. Adjusting the Q factor is simple enough to do at home.

Adjust Your Q Factor

Ground Clearance and Mud Shedding

We designed SHIFT Gravity Pedals with a thin profile and open center. A thin profile means a reduced chance of pedal strikes when cornering through rock gardens, root-filled chutes, and powering out of tight corners. The open center quickly sheds mud that can interfere with clipping in and out to ensure that your clips and unclips are quick and reliable.

Reliable Construction

SHIFT Gravity Clipless Pedals feature machined components from Wolf Tooth HQ here in Minnesota, USA. The internal components use the same proven design from our popular Waveform Aluminum Pedals, including a machined stainless steel axle, three low-friction cartridge bearings, and one igus bushing with a custom radial seal that protects internal components from trail debris. Simply put: these pedals will perform in any/all conditions.

Engineered in the USA

SHIFT Gravity Clipless Pedals are designed, engineered, and assembled right here in our Minnesota machine shop.

User Manual

Wolf Tooth SHIFT Gravity Clipless Pedals are designed for maximum support and unparalleled confidence for downhill, enduro, and aggressive trail riding with flawless clip-in/out performance. Extra contact in the front and rear with optional rear-loading grip pins provide even more control for commanding rides.

No other SPD-compatible pedals have a platform as large as SHIFT at 1201 mm². This platform contacts and locks in your shoe for confidence in extreme terrain at high speeds. SHIFT Gravity Clipless Pedals are simultaneously lighter (410 g) and thinner (15 mm) than all other gravity mountain bike pedals with an exceptionally low stack height. The thin profile means better cornering clearance and a lower center of gravity on the bike, while the open center between the binding cages increases mud shedding ability.

SHIFT Gravity Clipless Pedals have adjustable Q factor in 4 mm increments. Inside the pedal is a stainless steel axle, three bearings, and two spacers. Spacers and bearings can be rearranged for Q factors of 51, 55, or 59 mm. A spacer kit including four 2 mm spacers is available for purchase to further fine tune Q factor adjustment. This is simple enough for anyone to do at home. Like most Wolf Tooth components and accessories, replacement parts and service guides are available via Wolf Tooth Right to Repair.

  • Thinner than the competition at 15 mm (compared to the Shimano Saint at 18.8 mm and the Hope TC at 18.2 mm)
  • Lighter than the competition at 410 g (compared to Shimano Saint at 546 g and Hope Trail at 438 g)
  • Bigger platform area than the competition at 1201 mm² (compared to Shimano XTR 9220 at 883 mm² and Hope Trail at 645 mm²)
  • Adjustable Q factor range of 51, 55, and 59 mm (additional 53 and 57 mm options available as 2 mm spacers sold separately with spacer kit). Pedals ship in 55 mm position.
  • 5º float | 12º release
  • SPD-compatible
  • Eight optional stainless steel grip pins per pedal for increased connection – four per side, with two in front and two in rear
  • Proven axle and bearing design from Waveform Aluminum Pedals and CTRL + ALT + DEL Clipless Pedals

Recommended

  • Apply WT-G Precision Bike Grease to the pedal threads before installing pedals on crankarms.
  • Shift pedals accept up to 4 traction pins per side. Our 3 mm short pins are included with the pedals but not installed. We recommend riding first without pins and then adding pins if you desire more traction.
  • Adding front pins may make it harder to clip in with some shoes and adding rear pins may make it harder to clip out with some shoes. Always verify the clip in and out function with added pins in a safe area before hitting the trails.
  • You may find the biggest benefit to installing the pins is the added traction when you are not clipped in. This is especially true of the front pins as they typically do not contact your shoes when clipped in.
  • Longer Wolf Tooth 4.5 mm pins from our flat pedals are available for an even higher level of traction.

Compatibility

  • Compatible with SPD cleats; Wolf Tooth cleats included
  • Fits all standard cranks with 9/16-20 tpi right- and left-hand threads – some kids' bikes and vintage bikes may have smaller incompatible threads.
