Introducing the CAMO Direct Mount Spider for Shimano

Introducing the CAMO Direct Mount Spider for Shimano

We’re thrilled to introduce the CAMO Direct Mount Spider for Shimano. This Spider is designed to work with Shimano mountain bike cranksets that have a removable spider. This includes several XTR, XT, SLX, Deore Boost and Super Boost Cranksets.

We created CAMO (Chainline and Material Optimization) for direct mount style cranksets. Easily swap between chainrings on a whim and enjoy a variable selection of chainring options, all compatible with your selected CAMO Spider or BashSpider. With no nuts or spacers involved, swapping chainrings takes less time than brewing a cup of your favorite beverage.

Wolf Tooth's new CAMO Direct Mount Spider for Shimano built out with a CAMO Round Aluminum Chainring on an Ibis mountain bike.

The CAMO System provides key rider advantages by offering up to 4 different chainline options for one direct mount style (for instance, Shimano Direct Mount) and the ability to swap chainrings without having to remove your crankset. CAMO Spiders are made from 7075 Aluminum, known for its strength, stiffness, and light feel. The following chart provides a visual breakdown of the CAMO system:

An infographic by Wolf Tooth showing the hierarchy of the CAMO System and all compatible spiders, chainrings, and bashspiders.

Each of our four CAMO Chainrings features the same Drop-Stop technology as our mountain, CX, gravel, and road chainrings, which ensures maximum chain retention in all conditions.

Wolf Tooth’s new CAMO Direct Mount for Shimano joins a large family of CAMO-compatible brands, including Cannondale, E13, Race Face Cinch, Specialized S-Works, SRAM, and White Industries. Learn more about the CAMO System here. CAMO Direct Mount Spiders for Shimano are available now.

Introducing Morse Cage Limited Edition Khaki

Introducing Morse Cage Limited Edition Khaki

First there were khaki cargo shorts; then came Morse Cage Ti in Limited Edition Khaki. These cages pair well with chunky white sneakers, tucked-in shirts, and #dadwatts. The sturdy and dependable Morse Cage Ti Limited Edition Khaki bottle cages keep your bottles secure on the trail, helping you avoid any “oh h*ck” moments while you ride.

Khaki joins other Morse Cage Ti Limited Edition colors, including Pink, Teal, and Black. Our Limited Edition cages utilize Cerakote—an industrial-strength coating—to ensure durability and color fastness. This coating provides each cage with a unique, fade-resistant matte finish.

Morse Cage Ti bottle cages feature a precision-machined base plate with a dot-dash-dot-dash mounting pattern that allows you to easily reposition your water bottles on your bike frame. With up to 32mm of vertical adjustment and four unique positions that align with your bike’s bottle bosses, Morse Cage Ti bottle cages are key to dialing in your best experience on the bike. The four options for mounting positions allow you to mount larger bottles on full-suspension frames, add space for a frame bag by adjusting bottle height, or, depending on your bike’s bottle bosses, add two bottle cages on sufficiently long downtubes.

It's Back! (Re)introducing Morse Cage Stainless Steel

It's Back! (Re)introducing Morse Cage Stainless Steel

We’re thrilled to RE-release our Morse Cage in Stainless Steel! Weighing in at just 58g, these cages are hand-bent here in our Minnesota machine shop and provide a timeless look while also keeping your hydration safe and secure. We selected 304 Stainless Steel tubing for its durability and scratch-resistance in addition to its non-corrosive properties, which ensures the longevity of our Morse Cage Stainless Steel in even the worst conditions.

Wolf Tooth’s Morse Cages feature a base plate with a dot-dash-dot-dash mounting pattern which allows for four unique mounting positions that align with your bike’s bottle bosses. Each of the four options pairs a “dot” with a “dash,” giving you up to 32mm of vertical adjustment when positioning your bottle cages.

A versatile option for bikes with multiple bottle cage mounts, full-suspension frames, smaller frames, and bikes with any size frame bag, our Morse Cages can be paired with our B-RAD System to mount bottle cages away from inconvenient rear shocks, add storage room for tools and tubes below a bottle cage, and even provide space for a second bottle on sufficiently-long downtubes.

Learn more about some of our favorite B-RAD System products below!

  • B-RAD Mounting Bases: available as 2-slot, 3-slot, 4-slot, or dogbone-shaped, these mounting bases form the foundation of the B-RAD system by bolting directly to your bike. Move bottles away from suspension shocks and create space to add additional bottles and/or bags to the same base mount to maximize your hydration!
  • B-RAD Double Bottle Adapter: fits two cages side by side, allowing for easy access to bottles and quick installation with your existing cages.
  • B-RAD TekLite Roll-Top Bag 0.6L: this handy bag folds down to save space and keep your necessities at the ready! Attach under a saddle, strap to a frame, secure in a bottle cage, or direct-mount your TekLite Roll-Top Bag to any B-RAD Base.
  • B-RAD Bottle Shift: this product is designed to offset a bottle to a more optimal location and makes it possible to also mount a pump on frames with large downtubes. Improve clearance by shifting a bottle slightly off-center and tilting it outward. Slots and extra tapped holes in the mount provide up to 18mm of bottle position adjustment.

Our Morse Cages (including Morse Cage Stainless Steel!) fit most modern frames. We recommend using our Morse Cage Measurement Guide (printed at 100%) to find the perfect fit. Simply print and overlay on your bike frame for accurate sizing and compatibility. Morse Cage Stainless Steel joins an entire family of Morse Cages, including:

Add Flat Mount Brakes to Post Mount Frames and Forks with Our New Post to Flat Mount Brake Adapter

Add Flat Mount Brakes to Post Mount Frames and Forks with Our New Post to Flat Mount Brake Adapter

Add flat mount brakes to post mount frames and forks with our newest innovation: the Wolf Tooth Post to Flat Mount Brake Adapter. This component allows flat mount brakes to be added to a frame or fork that was designed for post mount brakes—an asset for cyclists who want to run road groupsets on mountain bike frames.

The Post to Flat Mount Adapter fits on 140mm, 160mm, and 180mm post mount native sizes. It’s important to note that the adapter is +20mm, which means a 140mm post mount native size will only work with a 160mm rotor, just as a 160mm post mount native size will only work with a 180mm rotor, and so on.

Our Post to Flat Mount Brake Adapter has been tested with both SRAM and Shimano brakes and includes two (2) M5x13mm flat head bolts for flat mount calipers in addition to two (2) M6x15mm socket head bolts for post mount. A minimum of 13mm between the top of the brake boss to the frame/fork is required for an accurate installation.

Installation of the Wolf Tooth Post to Flat Mount Brake Adapter

The Wolf Tooth Post to Flat Mount Brake Adapter pairs well with:

  • ShiftMount: An adapter mount that allows you to integrate SRAM and Shimano shifters with several different brakes from Shimano, SRAM, and Magura as well as mount shifters directly to handlebars independent of brakes.
  • RoadLink DM: A component that replaces Shimano’s stock direct mount link, allowing relocation of the bike’s derailleur to provide clearance for larger-than-stock range cassettes while maintaining chain wrap and improving shifting.
  • Tanpan: A component that makes Shimano 10- and 11-speed road shifters work with 10- and 11-speed mountain bike rear derailleurs.

All Wolf Tooth Post to Flat Mount Brake Adapters are CNC machined with 6061-T6 aluminum and sold individually. Learn more here!
