Step 1
Use two 18mm socket wrenches to unthread the driveside end cap (counterclockwise). The non driveside end cap is bonded to the axle and will not unthread. Note: do not use 12 point sockets.
Hubs and Wheels User Manual
1.0 Warning – Read Before Service
- Read this guide and all other installation, service and maintenance documentation before servicing your hubs.
- Bicycle hubs should always be built up, maintained and serviced by a qualified bicycle service technician in accordance with all instructions provided by Wolf Tooth. If you choose to build or service the hubs yourself, you assume all risk and liability for injury or damage.

2.0 Hub Maintenance
TOOLS REQUIRED
- 18mm socket wrench*
- 18mm torque wrench*
- Pick or small flat head screwdriver
- Clean rag or shop towel
- Q-tip or small brush
- ENVE Innerdrive grease
- Isopropyl alcohol

Step 2
Pull the freehub driver from the hub shell.
Step 3
Pull the axle out of the hub front the non-driveside.
Step 4
Remove the Perfect Preload washer and blue spacer.
Step 5
Using a mechanics pick or small flat head screwdriver, carefully pry out the retention clip.
Step 6
The ratchets are then free to remove, as well as the drive spring.
Step 7
Clean the hub shell splines, ratchets, axle and freehub driver seal.
Note: It is critical that the spring AND spring pocket are clean and dry. If either has grease on it, they need to be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a non-lint cloth or microfiber.
Step 8
Reinstall drive spring.

Step 9
Re-grease using ENVE Innerdrive grease. Coat the splines of the first ratchet with a large dot of grease. Apply 4 smaller dots of grease on the teeth and interlock the two ratchets together, wiping away any excess.
Step 10
Reinstall both ratchets. The greased splines should interface with the hub shell splines.
Step 11
Reinstall the retention clip. A small flathead may be helpful to seat it in the groove.
Step 12
Grease the axle with ENVE Innerdrive grease.
Step 13
Slide the axle back into the hub from the non-driveside.
Step 14
Install the blue spacer and Perfect Preload washer.
Step 15
Regrease the freehub driver seal and ratchet-interfacing splines.
Step 16
Reinstall the freehub driver.
Step 17
Thread on driveside end cap and torque the end cap to 10-12Nm.

Our machined in USA hub shells have been thoroughly tested in the lab and in the field. The ENVE Innerdrive internals have also undergone thorough testing in real world conditions, races and all types of weather.
5.0 Warranty
Your new Wolf Tooth Hubs are warrantied for defects in material or workmanship for a period of five (5) years from the date of purchase. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims. The warranty applies only to the original owner and is not transferable. The warranty is at the sole discretion of Wolf Tooth Components, LLC and is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective part(s), and this is the sole remedy of the warranty. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, routine maintenance, improper installation or use. Wolf Tooth Components, LLC shall not be responsible for incidental or any other costs incurred by the user or warranty service provider that are not expressly covered by this warranty. Any modifications to the hubs or failure to follow maintenance instructions voids the warranty. The user assumes all risk of injury or property damage if the pedals are modified or used improperly. Warranty duration and laws may vary from state to state and country to country.
- Always contact us before returning a hub or wheel for warranty evaluation (or any service). Include a detailed written description of the issue along with photos showing the issue if it is visible. Email with the subject “hub and wheel warranty” to: warranty@wolftoothcomponents.com
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
- Periodically inspect hubs for wear, or damage.
- Clean hubs with a damp cloth. Never pressure wash or spray water directly into freehub body seal.
- Wolf Tooth hubs are designed to keep moisture and debris out of their internal components. Maintaining clean hubs with properly lubricated internal components will maximize the longevity.
